I’ve been wondering how to make my blog posts
diverse and interesting between the subject series’, such as my Celtic Tree series… so I’ve decided to comment, rant or generally give my opinions on the
quotes/images that I receive through Google+. Sometimes, ‘So true.’ or ‘Awww,
that’s beautiful’ just isn’t enough and I have an opinion of almost everything.
So here goes…
As a witch, I couldn’t agree more this statement;
in fact, there are few things more powerful than the imagination and it would
take more cyber space than there is to cover all aspects of it. However I will
talk about my experience of how the power of thought fuels the manifestation of
my workings. At the start of a working, in the planning stages, when thoughts
and ideas tumbling from your mind like snow flakes whirling in a storm, this is
the beginning of the manifestation. Choosing the right moon phase, deities, element calls,
crystals, herbs, oils, words, all of these considerations help to build the
power. It all starts with thought: the reason behind working, the subject of it’s
intent, it’s actual intent… all of the thoughts evoked by this planning process
are the beginnings of the working, they create the energy which will the grow
and form the power behind the spell/ritual.
I’m sure you have heard it said that intention is
the key to a successful working and the power of thought is why this is so
true. Think about when you’re talking about somebody, like a relative, and all
of a sudden they call – the power of the mind is vast and harnessing its power
is what makes manifestation real. The most obvious practices involving the mind
and thought are meditation and visualisation, both essential parts of magickal
endeavours but setting and holding steady the intention of the target and what
you’re sending to them is what will make your spell manifest with gusto.
In my personal practice, I sometimes like to think
of every thought as part of an acorn waiting to become a mighty Oak-like spell;
the intention I set will become the roots, the materials I use give it
nutrients and the deities or other outside energies I invoke become the light
from the sun: with all of these elements active, I expect an Oak of a spell.
