Characterisation & Interpretation
This rune means Aurochs and the Auroch was a
European wild ox, it easy then to characterise as encompassing strength and
endurance, courage and the raw, wild power that is only obtained with freedom.
It is the epitome of male strength and all that makes masculinity so potent, spiritually,
emotionally and sexually.
A time of ending and a time of beginning – Uruz is
an indication of a major life change being imminent or in the process of coming
to fruition. Receiving the Uruz rune in a reading is also indicative of a new
opportunity which disguised as something to fear. It implies mental agility and
the ability to see a situation as it is and not how you want to see it. The
power of Uruz tells you to develop, grow and evolve, this can mean physically
or mentally.
It gives advice and encouragement – its presence is
the realisation that you have the strength to bring your dreams into reality.
It also asks to heed the warning that the strength to bring your dreams to fruition
comes with responsibility – do not let ego better you, do not let others
dictate your path; use your strength as a positive way of focusing on your
needs and not as a way to dominate those who exude the negative.
Reversed Meaning:
Frazzled and fluffy brain syndrome would be my term
a reversed Uruz – the inability to think clearly. This could be indicative of
illness or a lack of mental fortitude. It is also a warning – Beware the bane
of weakness; a second warning of a reversed Uruz is that there could be an
impending threat to your person or position
Converse (face-down):
Whilst face up Uruz is the sign of apparent
strength, converse, it symbolises hidden strengths to be realised – potential.
Also it advises to rebuff opportunities that may have hidden flaws; its
presence is a warning that if something seems too good to be true, it usually
is.
