Other Information
One of the 9 ‘firewoods’ of the
Belfire.
Known as the ‘Tree of
Immortality’ because it has the ability to grow a new tree from a fallen branch
in moist ground.
A tree of ‘Death’, therefore,
sacred to Hecate; added to the Belfire as a celebration of death.
The tree became known as the ‘Wtich’s
Tree’ when the healing and religious qualities combined into legend by village
wise-women.
He ‘Wind in the Willows’ is the
whisperings of a fairy in the ear of a poet.
