As much as I
have a strong enough belief in the fact that individuals can change the world
(it’s been done before), there is a definite lethargy that has set in between
now and then. The world will not be saved by me turning my tv off at the mains,
as opposed to leaving it on standby… nor will it be saved by me putting my
water bottles into the recycling bin (I do both of these things anyway). It can
be changed by investing in people, rather than things… smile at people, tell
them they’re doing something well/right, help them do it. Also, invest in the
planet… plant a tree, hug a tree (mother nature knows when you’re giving her
love), get involved in conservation… earth is not only our home but our
resource of comfort, heat, shelter; everything that has ever been made, thought
of or invented has come from earth because when the planet started there was
nothing here – she grew plants for our medicine, trees to provide shelter, and
how has the human race given her thanks… with destruction. Every person doing
just one little thing each day will heal her but sadly the destruction is so
severe that seeing her restored in this lifetime would be a miracle.
Wow, writing
this has made me cry. Hadn’t meant to go off on such a tangent – needed to get
it out though – rant over!!!
