My Chakras & Me

I have recently been considering my chakras under a microscope and this is what came out the other side of the lens:

 I feel that I live in my root chakra and visit the others when the need arises (which admittedly is quite often). By this, I mean that I always grounded and to me, grounding takes place in the root chakra because it is the most earthly: I see it as circles emanating slowly from me back to the ground. If I ever find myself with my head in the clouds, opening my root chakra brings me ‘gracefully’ back to earth. Even when I’m walking, I often feel that I am sitting in my root… I hope that makes sense. It is (for the want of a better word) my anchor. The chakra I have lease control over but worry about the least also.

 My sacral chakra is where I centre myself and I go here at the start and end of any meditation, rite or working to ensure that my energy is in the right place and going the right way. I consider the orange rotations of this chakra my energy filtering system – the sorting office of my energy postal service.

 The solar plexus, being a shiny, sparkling yellow of swirling delight is where I feel at home. I meditate from here. Maybe because I am Gemini; yellow is the ruling colour of my sun sign and I put much stock in true astrology so if something doesn’t feel right, I know my SP needs aligning/cleansing. My conscience is here and to me it naturally follows that this is where I will dispel my fears.

On the other hand, home is where the heart is; the heart chakra, being the midway point is where I search for and usually find balance. Again, being Gemini plays a part here too, the ultimate duality of ‘the twins’. I won’t deny that I have two sides me, the dark side rarely sees the light of day (pardon the pun) but when that part of me needs to be expressed the desire for it I feel it my heart chakra.

Naturally, the throat chakra is generally associated with communication and I agree with that whole-heartedly. I occasionally have issues expressing myself verbally and when this is the case my throat chakra is more like a tornado that an energy vortex. So to express myself better verbally I work on the shades of blue that are swirling and the speed. I change the chakras substance from air to water so that I speak emotionally and not from fear (which you may remember I hold in my SP).

What can I say about my Third Eye? It is my creativity, my imagination, my raison d’etre. In a world where every day life can leave shoe prints on my soul, a vast expanse of purple energy that encompasses every beauty in the Universe is a most welcome retreat. It is the home of visualisation and meditation; it holds the mysteries of everything I seek, love and trust as a pagan and I come here often.

Last but by no means least, is what I hold most sacred… my crown chakra (for future reference I refer to it as the lid). I never feel the need to open the lid fully because to me it is pure Universal energy, direct Divinity and experiencing that is overwhelming in large doses. During ritual, I open the lid about half way for a more powerful energy flow but for anything else there is simply a slim white cord of light reaching from my chakra to the Universe.
